Our story today begins in 761 bce, when the ruler of Cheng/Zheng married the daughter of the ruler of Shen. Her first son was a difficult delivery, coming out feet first, so she named him Breech Birth and carried a grudge against him. She preferred her second (surviving) son, Tuan / Duan, and encouraged him to overthrow Breech Birth, once he had succeeded to the throne, as Ruler Chuang / Zhuang, which means "impressive."
